Sand County Songs
Inspired by Aldo Leopold’s Sand County Almanac
Tim Southwick Johnson

Sand County Songs is wonderful. Tim Johnson has combined creative musicianship with a keen appreciation of Aldo Leopold’s writing and experience.”
—Curt Meine, author of Aldo Leopold: His Life and Work

Sand County Songs draws themes and lyrics from Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac. From thoughtful ballads and beautiful instrumentals to spirited bluegrass and finger-style blues, songwriter Tim Southwick Johnson gives voice to the honesty and respect of Leopold’s land ethic.

Songs and tunes included are: Prologue, Coffee Cup Chorus, Loving Pines, Come High Water, Red Lanterns, Crane Song, Green Fire, Sky Dance, Good Oak, If I Were the Wind, Winter Book, Draba, Better Way, and Epilogue.

Tim Southwick Johnson is an accomplished singer and performer on acoustic guitar, mandolin, tenor guitar, ukulele, and harmonica who has played his music in 30 states. He has provided music for video and film, including Wisconsin Barns/A Touchstone of the Past, aired nationally on PBS.
