Wingra Plays Dvorák
Wingra Woodwind Quintet

Transcriptions for woodwind quintet of two of Dvorák’s well-known and beloved string quartets: No. 10 in E-flat major, Op. 51, and No. 12 in F major, Op. 96 (“The American”).

Quintet members are Stephanie Jutt, flute; Marc Fink, oboe; Linda Bartley, clarinet; Linda Kimball, horn; Marc Vallon, bassoon. Founded in 1965, the Wingra Woodwind Quintet is ensemble-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Music. Since its formation, the quintet has established a tradition of artistic and teaching excellence. They have been featured in performance at national conferences of MENC, MTNA, and the International Double Reed Society, as well as at numerous venues throughout the U.S., and have been praised in the New York Times for performances that were “consistently sophisticated, sensitive, and thoroughly vital.” They recently released the educational video Developing Woodwind Ensembles.

All of these CDs are distributed for the UW School of Music
