Bassoonist Marc Vallon performs great compositions from the past half century

Bassoonist Marc Vallon performs compositions by Alexandre Tansman, Ginette Keller, Pierre–Petit, Philippe Hersant, José Luis Campana, and his own Cantus for solo bassoon, a free variation on a simple cantus in the style of the Renaissance masters. Violist Sally Chisholm and pianist Todd Welbourne accompany Vallon on several tracks.

He has collaborated with leading ensembles around the world, including the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra where he served as a bassoonist for twenty years, La Chapelle Royale, Les Arts Florissants, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (London), and Tafelmusik (Toronto). He also plays the German and baroque bassoon and has taught modern and baroque bassoon at the Lyon Conservatoire and the Paris Conservatoire. Sally Chisholm is violist of the Pro Arte Quartet and professor of viola at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Todd Welbourne is professor of piano at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
