A two-CD set of four major sonatas for cello and piano from the early twentieth century, all masterworks: John Ireland's Sonata in G minor; Albéric Magnard's Sonata in A Major, Op. 20; Richard Straus's Improvisation from Violin Sonata, Op. 18 (for cello); George Enescu's Sonata No. 2 in C Major, Op. 26, No. 2; and Sergei Rachmaninoff's Sonata in G minor, Op. 19.

Parry Karp is professor of music, artist-in-residence, and director of the string chamber music program at the University of Wisconsin­Madison School of Music. He joined the Pro Arte Quartet in 1976. Howard Karp is emeritus professor of music at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Both father and son have had distinguished performing careers, both as soloists and in ensemble, and have appeared in major concert halls throughout the world.
