She received a B.A. from James Madison University and an M.F.A. from George Mason University. She has taught English as a Second Language and writing classes in Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and New York, and was a poet-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Passages North, Cimarron Review, Southern Poetry Review, and Poet Lore. She lives in New York City with her husband and son.
